The thing about the A's is that they don't lose in an agreeable fashion. If they had any decency they would just go out there and get their asses kicked.
Ideally, they wouldn't go to the playoffs at all... in fact, they wouldn't even be in contention at the All-Star break. This would make it much more pleasant for us.

If they did go to the playoffs, then hopefully they would just get walloped with no mercy whatsoever and we could sit back and thank the gods of baseball for merely allowing our humble city to be in the post-season.
And if, for crying-out-loud, they actually made it to a game five in the division series (after being up two games to none)... well, then they would show up to the Coli with their heads hanging low and not even bother.
But these little punks... they keep trying. And that's what kills me.
I work so hard to get my self ready for the inevitable loss, but they won't let me. They pull me in, at just the last second and give me that one thing that every member of the fandom of a cursed team should never have... hope.
The Red Sox and Cubs think they have it bad. But the Cubs have always known they were out of it and the Sox just screw it up every decade or two. The A's fans... they have it bad... because we're actually convinced October that this time it could be different.
Oh well, maybe next year.
